Reflect vs. Reminder: be still my little heart.

The month of love is approaching very quickly and I cannot tell you how many guys wait until the last minute to select a gift for their gal. Surprisingly enough, it's not for the reasons you may think.

In my experience, with receiving and brain storming, most guys are just completely clueless on what to give and mainly because they ( with societies help) set this standard that the gift has to reflect their love for their gal. In reality, the gift shouldn't reflect their love (obviously because no materialistic item can truly reflect ones love for another) but it rather should be a reminder that she is loved. A small token that reminds her that she is thought of and appreicated, loved and treasured, cherished and worthy.

My advice on gift giving this Valentine's day? Have it be from the heart. It could be something that you know she enjoys, something that will speak to her, something that lets her know you were thinking about her; a reminder that she is appreciated and loved. It could be a framed napkin from the place you guys went on your first date, it could be a scented candle from an old childhood story she told you, it could be a word collage from magazine clippings of qualities that you love about her, it could be a favorite scarf from a store she had mentioned she loved, or a gift card to her favorite coffee spot that she stops at because it's part of her morning routine.

Whatever you give, let it be a bold statement so that everytime she walks past it, wears it, sees it, smells it, touches it...that it reminds her just how much you care.
